Why You Haven't Achieved The Success You Want

Success is simple.

It’s not easy but it’s simple.

Regardless of what you are seeking success in, the same rules apply. The problem is few people know the rules or want to observe them. As humans we think there must be a short cut to success. There has to be a simpler and easier way of achieving success.

Whether you want to win in business, your health, or relationships success boils down to 2 things

1) Consistency

2) Duration

Yep it’s just that simple.

You have to consistently do the tasks that are going to get you results- day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year.

It’s not sexy.

It’s not really even fun.

The process to achieving success is certainly not exciting.

The process may not be fun, but achieving your goals and outcomes certainly is.

When it comes to having success in all areas of life we are required to put our game face on and do the freaking work.

So what work do you need to do?

When it comes to growing a business, let’s get clear- you don’t have a business without sales. So your main objective day after day is to generate leads, and make sales. If you are not generating leads and making sales consistently- you don’t have a business- you have a hobby, purhaps even an expensive hobby.

Figuring out how to market, where to market, and who to market to and what you are going to sell takes up a lot of time in the early days- and many simply don’t have the stomach or the patience with the process to figure it out.

I recently read a post on Facebook someone was asking, “As a business owner do you enjoy marketing and selling?”

My response was simple, “ You don’t have to enjoy something to know you must do it and to actually do it. Truth be told the process of marketing and the process of selling are not my favorite part of owning a business- and likely never will be. I love fulfilling my products and services and seeing my clients win. So marketing and selling have to be done so that I can help my clients see success.”

Truly at the end of the day- it doesn’t matter if you enjoy the process of striving for success. What matters is the work you do consistently, day after day, even when know is watching or seems to give a rip what you are doing. Keep doing the work.

Focus on the work and results will come.

Thinking about doing the work- won’t get you results.

Doing the work once in a while- won’t get you results.

Doing the wrong work- won’t get you results.

Success is simple, not easy.

Success requires discipline, drive, determination, clarity and an outcome.

Success in business is simple:

Consistent Marketing + Consistent Sales = Consistent Outcomes

Success in health is simple:

Eat Real Food Daily + Move Your Body = Transform Your Health

What’s funny why you can transform your health, you can transform your wealth. The two require the same kind of habits, clarity, focus and determination- but that’s another blog for another day.

Success is relationships is simple:

Communicate Consistently + Care about the other persons well being = healthy relationship

Sure maybe I am super simplifying the process for success, but I don’t think I am.

Where we as human tend to get it all mixed up and backwards is the space between our ears where we personalize every failure and let it mean something about who we are as people.

We have a tendency to overcomplicate even the simplest things in life- how to achieve success being something more people overcomplicate and over personalize than anything.

When you focus on your goal, only your goal, and the tiny daily steps you need to take to get there- things change, and day after day you see small progress which leads to big progress overtime.
