Do you ever find yourself wondering why you aren’t having the earth shattering success you know you were born to have?
I get, I’ve been there. It wasn’t until I realized I had to change how I think, act, and believe that I really started to see real change in my business, health and life.
One of the biggest things that subconsiously hold a lot of people back from success, isn’t fear. It’s actually having a faulty set of beliefs and values, that were probably passed to them along their life journey, which simply don’t serve the vision they have for their life.
A way to think about it, going hunting for elk on the ocean, 5 miles out from the coastline. Chances are there are no elk, and if there are, the sharks will get them before you even have a chance to see them.
If your vision and your beliefs and values don’t align, you will do a lot of work, for very few results.
Often, we don’t even realize our blindspots, and beliefs and values that are holding us back from the success we know is meant for us.
Some values that may be holding you back from the success you crave are:
It takes hard work, and working 18 hour days
It takes money to make money
I don’t have the time to devote to my dream, I will start my business later. After the kids are grown, after I’ve saved up $, after ____ fill in the blank
No one in my family has ever been successful, so I will never be successful
Who am I do want success, success is for other people, special people
People who want to be wealthy and successful are selfish, greedy and bad- if I am successful, my friends and family won’t like me any more
All those thoughts and beliefs don’t have to remain true for you, unless you want them too. You can change your values, your thoughts, and your beliefs it’s just that easy and just that hard.
Success is simple, not easy- but it is simple.
Yes success in business takes work, creativity and a little scrappiness
You don’t have to have money to make money. In fact, especially when you are service based business like a coach, consultant, healer, artist, designer- you literally just need you. Your God given talents and the courage to tell people what you do and how you can help them.
You don’t need a lot of time to create success- you just need to be clear on the business building activities it takes for you to create success.
If no one in your family has ever been successful, follow a different path than everyone in your family, be brave, be bold and take the road less traveled. If you need support, because you can’t find it from people around you- get a coach, join a mastermind, attend a meet-up. Connect with people who have what you want to have, think the way you want to think, and do life how you want to do life. Leave your comfort zone, it will be uncomfortable… Embrace the discomfort.
If you dream it and believe it- you were born to achieve it. Give yourself permission to stop thinking small. Have the courage to take action.
Financial abundance and business success will only make you more of who you already are. If you are the type of person who is already generous and giving, you will continue to be generous and giving, just on a higher level. Think about like this… have you ever gone to a charity event where there was an auction, it becomes a game of who can contribute the most… when you have the money- you can be the person who writes that 100k check to your favorite charity without blinking, and still not have to worry about if your home is paid for or you will be able to buy groceries. There is nothing heroic about staying small when you have the vision and ability to go bigger.
